Viewing LIDAR files (*.las) in the photogrammetric window
Digi3D 2011 allows you to view LIDAR data in the photogrammetric window without consuming system memory and at high speed. In previous versions it was not possible to load .LAS files and the only way to check the LIDAR data was to load the .LAS files in tools like MDTopX, generate a triangulation, project a point cloud DEM, generate a drawing file and load the drawing file in the photogrammetric model. This process had two drawbacks:
- Point classification information was missing in the .LAS file
- It consumed a lot of memory because each point of lidar would be converted into a point Digi3D (with all its properties as code, rotation, maximum and minimum, ...), parameters that are not necessary for LIDAR points.
Digi3D 2011 has significantly improved this scenario, since it now natively loads .LAS files and treats them in a memory-saving way and with incredible performance. It also takes into account the classification of points and allows you to indicate the display parameters of points based on their classification (visible/invisible, thickness, color, opacity factor, ...) Below you have a video that shows this new functionality.
