Improvements when connecting to Web Map Service services
We have made a small improvement in Digi3D.NET when creating connection string files with Web Map Service services that will save you some time when connecting to a service. To load a layer Web Map Service in the drawing window, first we have to create a file .wmsconnection using the menu option File/Create a WMS server connection... When selecting this option appears the dialog box Route to WMS server in which on the one hand we have to put the URL to the GetCapabilities of the WMS server, and on the other hand we have to indicate the path of the .wmsconnection file to create. If the GetCapabilities path is valid and the server responds correctly, Digi3D.NET will create the file .wmsconnection that will be the file that we have to load in the drawing window. Once done that, we had to manually load the drawing file, and here is where we made the improvement: If when you do the upload process you have a drawing window open, the program will automatically load the .wmsconnection file, so we will save some clicks. In addition, if you had the drawing files pane closed, the program will open it automatically so that you can interact with it and activate the layer or layers you are interested in from the WMS server. You can see this feature in action in the following video:
