Configuring the SNAP_CUTS and SNAP_INSERT flags

November 19, 2014 snap snap_cuts snap_insert

We have added an option in the configuration menu of Digi3D.NET to indicate whether we want to break or insert vertices in the selected lines when selecting. Until now, if we had activated the flag SNAP_CUTS or SNAP_INSERT, every time we selected an entity, regardless of the reason for the selection, the selected line was split or a vertex was added to it. For example: if we executed the MEASURE command and selected a line to measure its distance from another point and we had activated the flag SNAP_CUTS at the time of the selection, when accepting the selection the line was split.mos. We have added a new section named Snaps in the configuration dialog with two configuration parameters:

Parameter Possible values
snap cut cuts the selected line * Whenever a selection is confirmed. * Only when registering lines.
Snap insert inserts a vertex in the selected line * Whenever a selection is confirmed. * Only when registering lines.

By default the program sets both options to Only when registering lines, which means that by default from now on Digi3D.NET will behave differently than previous versions in this regard. If we want to recover the previous mode, we just have to change both options to Provided that a selection is confirmed.
