Changes to sensor coordinate reference systems
We have made a number of modifications to the Digi3D.NET sensors in terms of reference coordinate systems. Now the program does not ask for the reference coordinate system when setting the parameters of the different sensors, so that depending on the sensor the reference coordinate system will be automatically selected. In the following table you can check the reference coordinate systems assigned to the photogrammetric window depending on the sensor type:
| Sensor | Allowed coordinate reference systems |
|---|---|
| RPC satellite | This sensor always works in the reference coordinate system: EPSG:4979. This is a reference coordinate system is identical to EPSG:4326 but instead of being geographical 2D, it is geographical 3D (with ellipsoidal Z coordinates). |
| VM Quasi-Panoramic | This sensor always works in the reference coordinate system: EPSG:4979. This is a reference coordinate system is identical to EPSG:4326 but instead of being geographical 2D, it is geographical 3D (with ellipsoidal Z coordinates). |
| ADS 40/80 | This sensor always uses the EPSG:4979 coordinate reference system. This coordinate reference system is identical to EPSG:4326, but is geographic 3D (with ellipsoidal Z coordinates) rather than geographic 2D. |
| Orthophoto | If it is a GeoTiff and this (which is not always the case) provides information of the reference coordinate system, the sensor will have that system, if not and there is a file with the coordinates of the sensor, the sensor will have the coordinates of the sensor .prj, the system indicated in that file will be assigned, otherwise the reference coordinate system will be unknown, both for vertical and horizontal. |
| Stereo Orthophoto | If it is a GeoTiff and this (which is not always the case) provides information of the reference coordinate system, the sensor will have that system, if not and there is a file with the coordinates of the sensor, the sensor will have the coordinates of the sensor .prj, the system indicated in that file will be assigned, otherwise the reference coordinate system will be unknown, both for vertical and horizontal. |

| Perspective | * If we load a model without absolute orientation and associated aerial triangulation, the reference coordinate system will be Local Horizontal + Local Vertical. * If the model has an aerial triangulation: + If the aerial triangulation file reports internally on a reference coordinate system, this reference coordinate system will be selected. To date, only Inpho .prj files report their reference coordinate system internally. + If the aerial triangulation file does not report internally on a reference coordinate system, but a .prj file is located in the same directory as the aerial triangulation file with a reference coordinate system, the reference coordinate system from that .prj file will be selected. + If the aerial triangulation file does not report on a reference coordinate system and a .prj file is not located, it will be selected as the reference coordinate system Local Horizontal + Local Vertical. * If an absolute orientation file is located, and it provides reference coordinate system information, this coordinate system will be selected to replace the one provided by the aerial triangulation file. |
In the following video we will learn how to assign to an aerial triangulation file .eo a reference coordinate system so that Digi3D.NET knows the location of that file in space. [youtube:http://youtu.be/-FIzU4cOp3Q]
